[mood | cranky]

So, Jean is gone and Scott is pissy. Things around here ought to be just fine 'n dandy now. Beer runs are gonna start getting expensive 'round here. Great.

'Side from that, Jade's back, and the kid's grown up some since she went to visit her grandmother. Wanted to talk when I went to get her from the airport, though why she wanted to talk ta me is over my head. Covered a few things I was surprised to hear come up, but at least they ain't festerin' and causin' a problem.

Might've overdone it with Willow in the Danger Room the other day, makin' her subdue that dummy instead'a just hurting it. Acted like somethin' was on her mind, but didn't let on. Still coulda been the loud car wreck the room simulated while she was training.

...wonder if Scott ever figured out what happened to that fuel line...

Too much to think about [Apr. 12th, 2005|08:53 pm]
[mood | stressed]

I'd go on with a string of swearin' here, but it wouldn't do much good to swear at myself in this damn journal, so I'll save it for the Danger Room and a good workout.

Since when did I start worrying about these kids? Christ. And I didn't even know I worried until this past weekend.

There is something to be said for being a loner.

So much for fightin' time. I don't seem to get as much of it as I used to anymore; gotta take it all out in the Danger Room. Though the students don't seem to be going out of their way to drive me as crazy as they usually do.

Movin' on.

Seems that Willow had her Danger Room session with Hank. I guess I'll have ta hunt him down and see how it went, get the other side of the story. Which reminds me, I need to work out what to teach Jane for her next self defense lesson. Those are going well, at least, she picks up fast.

So we'll see if we can get Jade back onto a bike sometime in the future. She seemed to be considering it pretty heavily, then ran outta the garage. I'll never get what's on a woman's mind, I swear. I'll just keep at her until she caves, I reckon.

I've also agreed to give Jane self defense lessons. I'll havta gather my notes up on what to teach her. Most of it I'm sure she already knows, but...we'll see.

Just enough ta keep me busy enough not to stew over things, I think.

These kids are gonna be the death of me. Sooner or later you watch, it'll happen.

I've started working with Willow in the Danger Room, and while I never expected it to be easy, I didn't expect it to be like training a pup either. At least now I know what to expect, now I just gotta find a way to keep her focused. Maybe that'll come in time. I have to remember that this is all new to her, where it's old stuff fer me. Maybe a word or two from Hank will help her think from a different angle.

I also finally managed to make up with Kate, or at least managed to keep her from sweating buckets when I happened to share space with her. No need for the kid to react that way when I walk into the room...

Logan strolled the grounds, quietly enjoying the sunshine and reflecting on what had happened since he'd returned...home? Too much in such a short time, really. But it wasn't as though he hadn't expected to be busy. The past two weeks had felt like a whirlwind. The snow war was fun, though he still felt a little sorry about the welt on Kate's forehead, even though it had long faded and he'd allowed her to watch one of his Danger Room sessions.

The Inauguration was...a disaster. Interventions like that never seemed to change the minds of the general populace. And to top it off, while they were gone, that damn protest group had showed up at the school. It was probably all the better that he hadn't been there.

And after that...a bar brawl, as brief as it had been. He was pretty used to the negativity, but there had been no need for them to involve Jade, though the girl did well for herself in stopping her attacker and booking it out of there. Seems the only place he could have a beer with a couple of friends anymore was the school's kitchen.

Turning and heading back to the building, Logan sighed. Maybe another Danger Room session to ease his temper, or something.

Back at home [Jan. 16th, 2005|10:15 pm]
[mood | tired]

Once in his room, safely locked away from any more sulking teenagers asking why he'd left without telling them. He threw his bag down at the foot of his bed, then flopped down to sit on the edge of the mattress. He heaved a sigh and reached over to turn on the lamp next to the bed. He wondered how many more would question his absence.

Certain that no one would dare knock on his door, he laid back on his bed and closed his eyes, taking the opportunity to rest.
